Overview
JLL Debt & Structured Finance are expanding their 30-strong European team and are seeking an analyst that is looking to build a successful career in Real Estate Finance. You will be joining a collaborative and highly active team, where you will work closely with the senior analysts, associates, and directors. You will play an important role in underwriting and executing financing advisory assignments, as well as supporting pitches and other origination activities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior analysts, associates and directors to underwrite and execute financing advisory assignments; support pitches and other origination activities.
- Engage with a client base that includes many of the world’s largest real estate investment firms; cover all asset classes across major European jurisdictions.
- Contribute to high value financing transactions, with the team having completed £20Bn+ of financing transactions in the past 24 months across 19 European countries.
- Work within a diverse offering that provides exposure to a broad array of transaction profiles; collaborate with other Capital Markets teams within JLL for cross-team learning.
- Follow a clear career path from analyst through associate to director, with mentorship and organic growth as foundational principles.
- Participate in day-to-day activities across the deal lifecycle and client engagement to support business production.
Day-to-Day Activities (Responsibilities)
- Broad sector & jurisdiction exposure: underwrite property sectors and business plans (investment, value-add, ground-up development, etc.) across major European jurisdictions.
- Financial modelling: build and analyse detailed unlevered and levered scenarios to align with base case plans and financing structures using Microsoft Excel.
- Financing memoranda: prepare 30–100 page financing memoranda in collaboration with clients, other JLL analysts, directors and graphics team.
- Lender outreach: assist in marketing financing opportunities, coordinate lender Q&A and feedback, and support outreach as experience grows.
- Loan execution analysis: create quote matrices and model terms to analyse options as financing quotes are received.
- Transaction management: coordinate calls, conditions precedent and deadlines during closing.
- New mandate origination: prepare RFP responses and pitch decks to assist directors in securing new mandates; documents are typically created in PowerPoint.
Qualifications
- A degree in Real Estate, Banking & Finance, Economics or Business Administration from a reputable University (or equivalent).
- Some previous experience in a professional working environment or an internship with a Real Estate or Financial Services organisation.
- High-level analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- An inquisitive mindset; eager to learn.
- A self-starter who takes initiative, demonstrates good time management and is organized.
- A collaborative mindset; valuing being part of a high performing team.
