As part of SuperCare\βs first EBD/SEMH home, the Senior Day Coach role is about being a source of expertise and steadiness. You\βll be right alongside the young people β helping them navigate risks, encouraging positive routines, and being a listening ear when they want to talk about difficult parts of their past. You\βll also play a vital role for your colleagues, modelling safe practice when it comes to self-harm, missing-from-home risks, or tough conversations about exploitation and trauma. You won\βt lead shifts, but you\βll provide expertise and guidance to newer staff when the day gets challenging.
What You\βll Do
- Support young people who are vulnerable to self-harm, going missing, or online exploitation.
- Encourage routines around eating, hygiene, and daily activities.
- Listen and respond appropriately when young people talk about past trauma.
- Share your expertise in ligature awareness, safeguarding, and missing procedures with junior staff.
- Model safe, calm, and professional responses during incidents.
- Drive young people to activities and appointments (full UK licence required).
What We\βre Looking For:
- Experience in self-harm, exploitation, or missing-from-home risks.
- Skilled in de-escalation, safeguarding, and mental health first aid.
