Position Overview
We are retained consultants working with a global Investment business. Our client is seeking an experienced Real Estate Asset Manager with a minimum of 8 years of experience to join the European team.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the real estate lifecycle, extending beyond traditional asset management. This role requires a proactive individual capable of managing debt funding, overseeing investor asset management reporting, and contributing to acquisition underwriting. A strong aptitude for adopting new technologies, coupled with leadership skills and a commitment to sustainability and ESG principles, is essential. The individual needs to have experience managing a wide range of asset types throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Management: Develop and implement strategic asset management plans to optimize property performance and value.
- Conduct regular property inspections to monitor conditions, identify and pursue opportunities for continual improvement.
- Manage debt funding processes, including sourcing, structuring, and refinancing of existing portfolio assets.
- Prepare and present comprehensive investor asset management reports and budgets to senior management and investors.
- Assist the acquisitions team in underwriting potential investments, providing detailed financial analyses.
Sustainability and ESG:
- Integration and delivery of sustainability and ESG targets.
- Work with the Head of Technology to integrate and utilize new technology to enhance asset management practices, reporting, and operational efficiencies.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior team members.
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to work independently.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Develop strong relationships with key tenants.
- Manage third-party consultants, including asset, property, and facility managers, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in real estate asset management, with a strong understanding of the full real estate lifecycle.
- Bachelorβs degree or equivalent in Estate or Land Management.
- Membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is preferred.
- Experienced in delivering institutional standard investor reporting.
- Proven experience in managing debt funding and investor reporting.
- Proven experience in managing small refurbishment and development projects.
- Demonstrated ability to adopt and integrate new technologies into asset management practices.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in mentoring and developing team members.
- In-depth knowledge of sustainability and ESG principles, including relevant legislation.
- Preferred experience in the industrial and retail sectors.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make informed decisions.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with key tenants.
- Experience in managing third-party consultants and service providers.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
