We have a requirement for a Project Engineer to join our expanding Thames regional office. This role is heavily associated with concentrating efforts on completing duties directly related to issues in the field. The role is split between site and office and provides a variety of day-to-day duties and responsibilities. The engineer’s role is really the wheels of a division's operation. The management and structure provide the power and steering, but without the engineers out in the field completing and managing the day-to-day operations, there would be no business or service to offer clients.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Completing Site Inspections with the adopting authority
- Compiling reports for approval
- Seeking quotations from sub-contractors
- Studying specialist drainage survey footage
- Compiling & submitting required adoption documentation
- Liaising & managing sub-contractors to complete works
- On-site supervision of Stage 3 site works
- Obtaining on-site sign-off of the works from the LA / WC inspector
- Chasing adoption certification from the various authorities
- Providing informal updates to progress and relaying any on-site issues to the operations manager
Environment and Working Hours:
- The office is an open plan environment
- Company office hours are 8.30 am until 5.00 pm (4.30 pm on Fridays)
Person Requirements:
- House building industry knowledge
- Background and understanding of basic civil engineering principles
- Working knowledge of Section 38 and 278 Highway Act and Section 104 Water Industry Act Agreements
- AutoCAD skills (preferred but not essential)
- Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to manage and deliver completion of projects on time and in budget
