A prominent national law firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its growing Planning, Environment & Sustainable Development team in Perth. This is a standout opportunity to work across a diverse and high-quality mix of planning, environmental and regulatory matters, supporting major projects and developments across Australia.
The Opportunity
You will work closely with highly regarded senior lawyers on a broad range of matters spanning planning, environment and administrative law. The team advises both private and public sector clients across complex regulatory frameworks and high-profile projects. Your work will include:
- Planning and development matters, including applications, approvals and appeals
- Environmental and regulatory advice across State and Federal frameworks
- Due diligence and strategic advice on major projects (including infrastructure, energy, resources and property)
- Compulsory acquisition and compensation matters
- Contaminated land and compliance issues
- Aboriginal heritage, native title and broader regulatory considerations (as relevant)
- Litigation and dispute resolution, including tribunal and court proceedings
You will be involved from early-stage strategy through to approvals, implementation and, where required, disputes.
About You
- 3–6 years PAE (Associate or Senior Associate level)
- Background in planning, environment, property or administrative law
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks
- Experience or interest in both advisory and contentious matters
- Confident communicator with strong drafting skills and attention to detail
- Commercially minded with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- For senior candidates: experience mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team development
