Job Purpose: To coordinate the supply of competent plant operators to fulfil operated hire contracts for our customers. Reporting to the National Recruitment Manager, you will primarily be responsible for arranging regional operator hires, ensuring that all operator hires as requested by your manager are filled with suitably trained and skilled operators within your region. In addition, the role requires oversight and coordination of Rail Resource, ensuring full compliance with rail-specific standards, competencies, and administrative requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Fill all regional operated hires as allocated daily by your manager with suitably trained skilled operators from the Company database.
  • Apply the pre-agreed operator and charge out rates, as provided by the National Recruitment Manager.
  • Ensure operator pre-use checks are completed in accordance with working practices (e.g. relevant certification, right to work information, medical information and medical bookings as part of induction where needed).
  • Coordinate and manage Rail Resource, ensuring all rail personnel are fully compliant and up to speed with industry requirements, including:
    • Sentinel system requirements (including Sentinel compliance).
    • Sub-sponsorship and primary sponsorship arrangements.
    • Fatigue Risk Index (FRI) monitoring and compliance.
    • All rail-related administration, including competency validation, medicals, bookings, and safety-critical documentation.
  • Interact and collaborate with all regional teams and departments, together with national teams and departments from time to time, to ensure a smooth and effective service is provided, including, but not limited to:
    • Liaising closely with the Hire Desk as required, monitoring the Hire Board for new and amended operator hires.
    • Liaising with BDMs to keep them updated on their operated hires and changes.
    • Liaising with site contacts to ensure best customer service is provided.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with both current and new regional operators and rail personnel.
  • Carry out daily Operator check-ins to confirm the operator is on site and escalate any issues as required.
  • Ensure that operators and contract details are correctly registered on central systems, including verification of competencies/tickets.
  • Carry out payroll administration to ensure that operators and agencies are paid correctly, and that customer invoices are accurate.
  • Provide absence cover for other Regional Resourcing Coordinators as required.
