Role Overview We are looking for an organised, technically confident Project Coordinator – Electrical Installations to coordinate the day-to-day delivery of high-volume domestic Solar PV and battery storage installations. This office-based role combines project coordination and installation planning with electrical technical support and compliance. You will be a central point of contact for installers, subcontractors, customers, suppliers and internal teams, ensuring jobs are properly planned, technically ready, resourced and delivered safely, compliantly and to programme. You will also support the day-to-day operational running of our Trusted Partner schemes with one of the UK's leading energy companies, ensuring programme commitments, service levels, technical standards and customer expectations are consistently achieved. The role is suited to someone from a fast-paced solar, heating, home-improvement or similar installation-led business who is comfortable managing multiple live jobs, changing priorities and technical issues while maintaining strong customer service and installation quality. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Installation Coordination • Plan and maintain installation schedules across domestic Solar PV and battery programmes, allocating work to teams based on availability, location, competency and project requirements. • Support the day-to-day running of our Trusted Partner schemes with one of the UK's leading energy companies, coordinating installation activity and ensuring agreed programme, service, compliance and customer standards are met. • Ensure each installation is ready to proceed, with the correct job information, technical documentation, access arrangements, materials, equipment and customer confirmations in place. • Monitor live installations, completion dates, outstanding works and remedials; proactively resolve delays, resource constraints and operational issues. • Coordinate customers, installers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams, providing clear updates and maintaining accurate project records. • Minimise aborted visits, downtime, unnecessary travel and repeat works through effective planning and early issue resolution. • Support resource planning, installation-team utilisation and supply-chain performance across multiple concurrent domestic projects. Electrical Technical Support & Compliance • Act as the office-based technical point of contact for electrical installation, commissioning and fault queries, escalating specialist issues where appropriate. • Manage DNO applications, notifications and approvals, including G98/G99 submissions and supporting technical documentation. • Support and maintain MCS compliance, ensuring installation records, evidence and processes remain audit-ready. • Coordinate preparation for NICEIC assessments, registrations and renewals, ensuring electrical certification, test results and supporting documentation are complete and accurate. • Review electrical certificates, schematics, photographs, commissioning records and other installation evidence for quality and compliance. • Support safe and compliant delivery in line with BS 7671, DNO requirements, MCS standards, NICEIC requirements and manufacturer instructions. • Investigate non-conformances and recurring technical issues, coordinating practical corrective actions and improvements. Performance & Continuous Improvement • Track installation progress against programme and operational targets, maintaining visibility of completed, delayed, outstanding and remedial works. • Provide regular delivery updates to the Operations Director and highlight risks that may affect programme, quality, compliance or customer experience. • Identify recurring causes of failed or delayed installations and help improve processes, technical standards and team performance. Candidate Requirements • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume solar, heating, home-improvement, renewables or similar domestic installation business. • Experience coordinating multiple installation jobs and supporting field-based engineers, electricians, installers or subcontractors. • Strong practical understanding of domestic electrical installations, with the confidence to support Solar PV and battery installation delivery. • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and make sensible decisions quickly when plans change. • Confident communication with customers, installation teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders, with strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping. • Good IT skills and confidence using scheduling, CRM or project management systems. Qualifications • Working knowledge of BS 7671 and electrical installation requirements. • Knowledge or experience of G98/G99 DNO applications and approvals. • Experience within a NICEIC-registered and/or MCS-certified business, including audit or assessment preparation. • Experience with Solar PV and battery storage, including a basic understanding of domestic solar system design; EV charging experience would be advantageous. • A recognised electrical installation qualification and current 18th Edition qualification are highly desirable; inspection and testing and renewable technology qualifications would also be beneficial.
