JOB OVERVIEW

We're recruiting a Fire & Security Installation and Commissioning Engineer for our client, a growing Fire and Security company based in Barnstaple. This is a full-time, permanent position working across commercial and industrial projects with a professional business that has strong long term growth plans. This is a varied, hands on role with genuine opportunities for career development and the chance to be part of a supportive and growing team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, commission, test and hand over Fire Detection, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems across a range of sites
  • Work from technical drawings and specifications
  • Carry out programming, fault finding and system testing
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with current regulations and British Standards
  • Work independently when required and maintain a professional attitude when dealing with clients and site teams
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years experience within Fire and Security (essential)
  • Strong fault finding ability across Fire and Security systems
  • Good knowledge of both traditional and IP based systems
  • Understanding of BS 5839, BS EN 50132, BS EN 50133 and BS EN 50131 (highly beneficial)
  • Experience with manufacturers such as Hikvision, Paxton, Texecom, Gent, Morley or Advanced (advantageous)
  • Industry qualifications including FIA Units, ECS or CSCS cards, IPAF or PASMA certifications (desirable, not essential)
  • Good communication skills and professional attitude
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Must be able to pass full security vetting
