We are seeking an experienced Senior Fire & Security Engineer to take a lead role in the installation, servicing and maintenance of fire and electronic security systems across commercial and industrial sites. This is a hands-on position with added responsibility for technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers and maintaining high standards of compliance and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and carry out the installation, servicing and maintenance of fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV and access control systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex faults efficiently across multi-discipline systems.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections and testing in line with current British Standards and industry regulations.
- Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers, promoting best practice and skills development.
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers, ensuring a professional and customer-focused service.
- Accurately complete service reports, certification and system documentation.
- Participate in an on-call rota for emergency call-outs when required.
- Work closely with project and operations teams to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a senior fire and security engineering role.
- Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems, CCTV, intruder alarms and access control systems.
- Extensive experience with installation, commissioning, servicing and fault finding.
- Ability to work independently while providing technical leadership within a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Devon & Surrounding.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Industry qualifications (FIA, NSI, electrical or security-related certifications).
- Experience with a range of fire and security manufacturers systems.
- Previous experience mentoring or supervising engineers.
