Job Summary Reporting to the Rental Team Leader, the Rental Workshop Engineer is responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair and preparation of forklift trucks to ensure they operate safely, reliably and to the required company and manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PM) on forklift trucks.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
  • Strip down, repair and repaint forklift trucks where required.
  • Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and off-hire inspections.
  • Accurately complete service reports, inspection documents and timesheets.
  • Identify and communicate all chargeable repairs to the Rental Administration team to maximise revenue opportunities.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
  • Ensure repairs are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Assist with the preparation and refurbishment of rental fleet equipment.
