We are seeking a skilled Fire & Security Service and Small Works Engineer to join our team. The role involves servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on fire alarm and security systems across a variety of client sites. You will also carry out remedial works, system upgrades and minor modifications to ensure systems remain compliant and fully operational.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Routine service, maintenance and fault-finding of fire alarm and security systems across a range of client sites.
  • Carry out remedial works, system upgrades, additions and minor modifications as required.
  • Undertake small works installations, including extensions to existing systems and the installation of smaller standalone fire and security systems.
  • Ensure all systems serviced, repaired or installed meet regulatory and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records, including test results, certificates, as-fitted drawings and system documentation.
  • Work closely with the service team and engineers to deliver timely, effective maintenance and support solutions.
  • Provide technical support and advice to clients, ensuring clear communication and a high standard of customer service.

Details

  • Door-to-door travel: currently around 30 minutes each way.
  • Call-out: approximately 1 in 5 weeks.
  • Call-out standby: £135 per week, with door-to-door travel paid at 1.5 times the normal rate.
  • The majority of the work is within Peterborough and the surrounding counties, with a small number of national sites.
