Location: Marlow & London (transitioning to a primarily site-based role in Marlow)

Salary: £43,000 – £47,000 per annum + overtime + on-call allowance

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanical & Plumbing Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting commercial sites across the Marlow and London areas. This is initially a mobile role, with the position expected to become primarily site-based in Marlow over time.

The successful candidate will have strong experience working on mechanical building services systems including AHUs, FCUs, and plant room equipment, alongside plumbing maintenance and minor electrical works. This role suits an engineer who is proactive, client-focused, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider maintenance team. Overtime opportunities will be available depending on reactive workload, and participation in an on-call rota is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on:
    • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
    • Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
    • Pumps, valves, and associated plant room equipment
    • Commercial plumbing systems
  • Fault finding and repairs on mechanical systems
  • Carry out minor electrical maintenance and first-line fault diagnosis
  • Monitor and maintain plant performance and system efficiency
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures
  • Complete maintenance records, service reports, and job documentation accurately
  • Liaise professionally with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Support emergency call-outs as part of the on-call rota

Requirements

  • Proven experience within commercial building maintenance or facilities management
  • Strong mechanical background with experience on AHUs, FCUs, and plant room systems
  • Good plumbing maintenance knowledge
  • Basic electrical competency and fault-finding ability
  • Relevant mechanical/plumbing qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
