As a Reactive Pest Control Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the business by providing flexible, responsive pest control services. This role involves covering holidays, sickness, vacant patches, and assisting on complex or two-person jobs. You will thrive in dynamic environments, quickly adapting to last-minute changes while delivering outstanding service to maintain pest-free environments for our clients.
Key Duties:
- Respond to reactive service requests, including covering absence and high-priority jobs across multiple regions.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify pest infestations, entry points, and harbourages.
- Implement effective pest control treatments in line with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles, focusing on sustainable solutions.
- Service and maintain pest control equipment, including electronic fly killers.
- Identify additional risks or pest activity and advise customers on necessary preventative measures, proofing, or additional services.
- Accurately complete treatment reports and communicate findings and advice to customers.
- Ensure compliance with all product labels, safety protocols, and company procedures.
- Carry out minor proofing works and hygiene measures where required.
- Promote additional services and generate leads, benefiting from our industry-leading 7% lead commission.
- Optimise daily routes and workload to ensure efficiency.
- Maintain company vehicle, equipment, and stock levels.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Any other duties as required to support business needs.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Experience:
- Essential: Minimum 2 years' experience in pest control. Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, reactive role.
- Desirable: Experience with a variety of pest species and environments (commercial, residential, industrial). Previous experience in a mobile or multi-site role.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Essential: BPCA / RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Competent in using mobile reporting systems. Full UK driving licence.
- Desirable: Additional pest management certifications. Knowledge of non-chemical pest control methods and IPM strategies.

- Proactive and flexible, with a “can-do” approach.
- Comfortable with short-notice assignments and changing schedules.
- Customer-focused, demonstrating professionalism and care.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.

Other:
- Willingness to travel extensively within the UK.
- Availability for overtime and occasional weekend work if required.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (Additional hours available through overtime and reactive call-outs)
