The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Extinguisher Engineer to join a growing fire safety team covering London and the surrounding areas.
This is a mobile role responsible for servicing, maintaining, installing and commissioning portable fire extinguishers across a wide range of commercial and industrial sites.
The successful candidate will be customer-focused, organised and committed to delivering a high standard of service while ensuring compliance with current British Standards and fire safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Service and maintain portable fire extinguishers in accordance with BS 5306.
- Install new fire extinguishers and associated fire safety equipment.
- Carry out site surveys and provide recommendations where required.
- Identify defective or non-compliant equipment and recommend appropriate remedial works.
- Complete service reports and certification accurately using electronic job management systems.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant British Standards and health & safety legislation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through excellent service.
- Manage vehicle stock and ensure sufficient parts and equipment are available.
- Participate in an on-call rota where required.
Requirements
- Previous experience servicing and maintaining portable fire extinguishers.
- FIA Foundation and/or FETA qualifications (or equivalent) desirable.
- Good knowledge of BS 5306 standards.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Basic IT skills for completing electronic reports.
