We are looking for a skilled engineer to install, maintain, and repair Fire Alarm Detection Systems and Electronic Security Systems, including Access Control, CCTV, and Intruder Systems. This role covers the southeast of England, though travel beyond this area may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, maintain, and repair Fire Alarm Detection Systems and Electronic Security Systems.
- Respond to system breakdowns and emergency callouts.
- Work an 8-hour day on-site, with up to 1 hour of unpaid travel time at the beginning and end of the day. Any additional travel time will count as part of the working day.
- Participate in an on-call rota for emergency callouts.
- Complete weekly timesheets and submit monthly mileage and expense reports.
Other Duties
- Follow ISO 9001 Quality Procedures and industry regulations (NSI Gold, NSI Fire Gold, and LPCB 1014).
- Comply with health, safety, security, and environmental policies.
- Commission, install, and troubleshoot Fire Alarm Detection Systems.
- Respond to faults in CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder Alarm Systems.
- Ensure proper engineering practices are followed.
- Suggest improvements or adjustments to project scope.
- Maintain company-issued equipment in good condition.
- Mentor trainees and junior engineers.
- Maintain professional timekeeping and housekeeping.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Manage tools and resources efficiently on-site.
- Complete paperwork and reports as required.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- FIA Training completed: BS (Apply online only) Part 1, Service & Maintenance, Commissioning, and Advanced Commissioning.
- Strong experience in installing, testing, and commissioning Fire Alarm and Security Systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues.
- Minimum ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Systems.
- Full (preferably clean) driving licence.
- Successfully passed BS 7858: 2006 security screening.
- Health & Safety competent with CSCS certification.
