Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer

Location: Around Somerset & Bristol areas, with regular travel to customer sites throughout the UK and occasional travel abroad where required.

Job Role

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality refrigeration and engineering services at customer sites, ensuring equipment is installed, maintained, repaired and serviced to the highest professional standards.

The role requires excellent technical expertise, strong customer service skills and a commitment to health and safety while supporting the Company's 24-hour service operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, service and repair refrigeration and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently to minimise customer downtime.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance works.
  • Attend customer sites and represent the Company professionally at all times.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with Company procedures and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate service reports, job sheets and any required documentation.
  • Comply with all Company policies, procedures and reasonable management instructions.
  • Participate in the standby and emergency call-out rota, providing out-of-hours support when scheduled.
  • Work additional hours, weekends and public holidays where business needs require.
  • Travel throughout the UK and, where necessary, overseas to support customer requirements.
  • Maintain company-issued vehicles, tools, PPE, mobile devices and equipment in good condition.
  • Report vehicle incidents, licence changes, equipment damage or safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding Company and customer information.
  • Complete mandatory training and maintain all required professional qualifications and accreditations.
  • Support colleagues and, where required, undertake additional duties or temporarily perform higher‑grade responsibilities.
  • Promote excellent customer relationships and uphold the Company's professional standards.
  • Working Hours
  • Minimum 39 hours per week.
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
  • 30‑minute unpaid lunch break each full working day.
  • Participation in the Company's standby and call‑out rota is mandatory.
