About the Company: We are a growing, independently owned security system company based in Essex, delivering high-quality installation and maintenance services across Essex, London and the Southeast. Due to continued expansion and an increasing client base, we are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Security Systems Engineer to join our team.
Role Overview: This is a field-based role requiring a skilled engineer capable of working both independently and as part of a small, dedicated team. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of a range of security systems across commercial, industrial and residential sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, configuration and commissioning of CCTV systems (IP and Analogue), intruder alarm systems, access control systems.
- Fault finding, servicing and maintenance of existing systems.
- Upgrading and expanding current installations.
- Ensuring all systems are installed to industry standards and company specifications.
- Providing technical support and advice to clients on-site.
- Completing all relevant documentation and reports accurately.
- Always maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in the installation and commissioning of intruder alarm systems including: Texecom, Scantronic, Risco, Ajax.
- Strong working knowledge of CCTV systems particularly: Dahua, Hikvision.
- Experience with access control systems is highly desirable.
- Good fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
- Solid IT/networking knowledge (IP addressing, routers, basic networking).
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.
- Strong communication and customer‑facing skills.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Ability to pass a DBS check and BS7858 screening.
- Willingness to travel and occasionally work away from home.
- Flexibility to work overtime when required.
