About Us
We are a growing Fire & Security company delivering high-quality fire alarm, CCTV, access control, intruder alarm and networking solutions across commercial and industrial sectors. As the business continues to expand, we are looking for a capable and hands-on IT & Network Manager / Specialist to take ownership of the company’s internal IT infrastructure and support the technical delivery side of the business.
The Role
This is a varied and practical role suited to an experienced all-round IT professional who is comfortable managing day-to-day business IT systems while also supporting networking requirements linked to Fire & Security installations. You will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the company’s IT environment, supporting staff and engineers, improving systems and processes, and assisting with network design and troubleshooting across customer projects where required. The role offers a mix of office, home and site-based working.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, systems and devices
- Providing internal IT support to office staff and field engineers
- Administering Microsoft 365, user accounts, permissions and cybersecurity measures
- Managing company networks including routers, switches, VPNs and Wi-Fi systems
- Supporting networking requirements for CCTV, access control and security systems
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and connectivity issues
- Maintaining backups, security updates and disaster recovery procedures
- Liaising with external IT providers, suppliers and telecoms companies where required
- Assisting with the setup and commissioning of network-connected security systems
- Recommending and implementing improvements to systems, infrastructure and security
- Supporting future business growth and digital development initiatives
Candidate Requirements
- Strong all-round IT knowledge and troubleshooting ability
- Good understanding of computer networking principles and infrastructure
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Windows environments
- Knowledge of routers, switches, VLANs, VPNs and remote connectivity
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience within the Fire & Security industry or related technical sectors
- Understanding of IP CCTV and network-based security systems
- Experience with cloud services, virtualisation or cybersecurity best practices
- Knowledge of structured cabling and site-based networking installations
