Business Change Project Manager - Hybrid - 2 days in Ilford, Essex / North East London
The Opportunity
A London local authority is undertaking an ambitious modernisation programme to improve the services it provides to residents, simplify processes and deliver better value for money. We are looking for experienced Project Managers who have personally delivered business change and service redesign projects within complex organisations. These are hands-on transformation roles rather than traditional IT Project Manager positions (so if your experience is in delivering IT Projects then I'm afraid it's not in line with what we're looking for).
The Role
Lead individual service redesign and improvement projects across a range of council services.
Review existing processes, working practices and service delivery arrangements to identify opportunities for improvement.
Work closely with operational teams, Business Analysts, Service Designers and Service Managers to develop and implement new ways of working.
Manage project plans, milestones, risks, budgets, governance and stakeholder communications.
Support changes involving people, processes, organisational structures and, where appropriate, technology or automation.
Manage implementation activities and ensure redesigned services are successfully embedded.
Track project outcomes, efficiencies and benefits against agreed objectives.
The Person
Proven experience delivering business transformation, operational change or service redesign projects.
Must be able to demonstrate direct involvement in implementing change, not simply managing reporting and governance.
Background in Local Government, Public Sector, Central Government or Civil Service transformation.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with operational teams and senior managers.
Comfortable challenging established processes and taking ownership of delivery from initial discovery through to implementation.
The role is offered on a hybrid basis with an expectation of 2 days a week in the office. It is is Inside of IR35 paying up to £600 per day to the Umbrella company. 3 month initial contract with strong chance of extension.
