The Opportunity
Our client requires a DV Cleared Network Engineer to join a programme delivering critical infrastructure within a secure Defence environment. You will be part of a senior delivery team responsible for both network design and operational support across complex enterprise and data centre environments. The role offers a mix of project delivery and BAU work, giving exposure to a broad range of technologies and platforms supporting mission-critical systems. This position is suited to someone who enjoys owning network engineering challenges, contributing to solution design, and working within secure environments where reliability and resilience are essential.
The Role
- Provide senior-level network engineering expertise, helping design, implement and maintain secure and scalable networking solutions.
- Producing network designs and providing engineering expertise within delivery teams.
- Designing and implementing modern, scalable network solutions across secure environments.
- Supporting both project delivery and operational (BAU) network services.
- Leading network management and acceptance activities within the programme.
- Working with partner teams to implement new technologies and automation capabilities.
- Supporting network integration and assurance across multiple business services.
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation including HLDs, LLDs and work instructions.
The Person
You will be an experienced Network Engineer comfortable operating in complex and secure environments, with strong technical depth across enterprise networking technologies. Essential experience includes:
- Strong knowledge of data centre and campus networking technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching and firewalls.
- Experience with Fortinet (Fortigate / FortiSwitch), Palo Alto firewalls and Juniper SRX.
- Experience working with F5 load balancing technologies (global and local).
- VMware NSX experience.
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols and L2/L3 networking.
- Experience supporting high availability data centre networks.
- Experience working in Defence or highly secure environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with ownership of complex incidents.
- Experience producing technical documentation and working within structured delivery environments.
