We're working with a growing challenger bank who are looking to bring in a Migration Lead on an initial 9-month contract to take ownership of a core banking migration. This is a key role where you'll be responsible for the end-to-end migration of legacy savings products and customers onto a new platform. You'll define the approach, drive the planning and execution, and ensure everything is delivered safely, accurately and with minimal customer impact.
You'll operate at programme level, working alongside the Programme Manager (reporting into senior leadership) and collaborating closely with technology, operations, data, risk and compliance teams, as well as external partners. There is a strong vendor component, including a core banking platform provider, so experience working in these environments is important.
The scope focuses on savings products (fixed term, easy access and notice accounts, ISA and non-ISA), so strong knowledge of how savings products operate is essential. At a minimum, you must have a solid understanding of core banking platforms and be able to clearly articulate your experience in this area. Experience with platforms such as Mambu or similar is highly desirable.
This organisation is growing quickly, with significant increases in customer volumes, so the migration needs to be delivered in a controlled but scalable way. You'll lead on defining the migration strategy, data mapping and reconciliation, rehearsal cycles, cutover execution, and post-migration stabilisation. You'll also work closely with the data team (including regular working groups) to ensure data integrity, validation and auditability throughout.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Strong experience leading or playing a key role in data migrations within financial services
- Solid understanding of savings products (essential), with broader exposure to loans or mortgages beneficial
- Experience working with core banking platforms (e.g. Temenos, Finova, Mambu or similar)
- Experience operating in regulated environments (FCA/PRA)
- A track record of working across multiple teams, including data, technology and third-party vendors
- Confidence managing risk, dependencies and delivery challenges in a fast-paced environment
The role is hybrid, ideally 3 days per week in the office in Basingstoke, although there may be some flexibility for the right person. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical migration programme within a business going through rapid growth, with real visibility and impact from day one.
Rate - £700-750 per day on an Inside IR35 basis.
