Role overview

To install fire doors and frames at a variety of customer premises, ensuring current fire regulations are adhered to and quality of work is of a high standard.

  • Installation of new BM Trada Q Mark Fire Doors and frames
  • Familiarity with and understanding of the current Fire regulations to ensure the doors are fully compliant
  • Ability to identify labels, CE marks and Plugs to show that a door is certified
  • Fire Door Maintenance / Remedial Works
  • Fire Stopping/Compartmentalisation

Service Delivery

  • Demonstrate an understanding of what service delivery excellence is for your role, ensuring you deliver the basics right every time and lead a team where service is central to good performance
  • Set clearly defined service level agreements for your team
  • Contribute to the service training across the business
  • Monitor and report on the KPIs on a daily basis to track progress and backlog for all customers
  • Monitor and report job status to ensure all customers SLA and Regulatory (BAFE/NSI) requirements are met and exceeded

People Management

  • Set clear objectives for your team members providing regular feedback on performance
  • Manage performance across the team to ensure the achievement of service delivery targets in line with Service Level Agreements
  • Manage any employee relations issues in line with the policies set out by the business
  • Coach and develop the team to ensure they perform at a high level, ensuring colleagues maintain appropriate knowledge of the business products
  • Address any training and development needs and ensure teams have a personal development plan
  • Maintain ongoing communication with employees regarding their wellbeing

Managing Risk

Awareness of your operational and regulation risks which may impact on your operations. Responsibility for reporting to your line manager any risk which may impact the business.

Criteria

  • Essential: Familiar with the BM Trada Q Mark Scheme, Install/maintaining fire doors
  • Desirable: Proven track record in installing fire doors and/or fire door maintenance. Some fire stopping experience would be beneficial.

Personal qualities

  • Self-motivated, reliable, punctual and take pride in the quality of your work
  • Willingness to travel/work away when required
  • Able to act in a professional manner
  • Good communication skills

Qualifications

Minimum Level 2 Qualification in Joinery or relevant experience.
