Role Overview
We are looking for experienced credit controllers to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment. You will manage your own portfolio of customers, collect debts, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve queries and reduce aged debt. You will host conversations and meetings with stakeholders to resolve credit issues and contribute to continuous improvement.
Key tasks
- Manage a portfolio of customers and use relationships to maximise cash collection.
- Prioritise daily tasks to deliver on customer service and financial targets.
- Work with accounts payable to keep ledgers current and answer queries.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver customer success and negotiate payments.
- Present ideas for challenging accounts to team managers.
- Receive payments by debit or credit card.
- Forecast cash collections with team managers and head of department.
- Develop next steps for unrecoverable debts and propose solutions.
Knowledge and Skills
- Other ad hoc duties as needed.
- Demonstrated history of meeting targets consistently.
- Effective debt management leading to timely resolution.
Experience
- Experience highlighting and processing defaults where necessary.
- Updating and maintaining clear customer activity notes in a finance system.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel.
- Experience working in a busy office environment and meeting tight deadlines.
Minimum 2 Years\’ Experience In a Similar Role
- 3+ years experience managing high-value customers.
- 3+ years experience managing low-value, high-volume accounts.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, including Lookup & Pivots for reconciliation.
- Experience with change management/process improvements.
