Role overview
You will be responsible for the learning pathways of the organisation, with a focus on the Sales Teams. JLA has a large Sales Team and this role will involve developing and implementing an engaging and robust set of training materials for the Sales Team, whilst working closely with the Sales Leaders to realise the potential of the team. You will also support the business in delivering training on the âJLA Way of Managementâ, and identifying skills gaps and training priorities for other customer-focussed teams such as Customer Services, Planning and Dispatch and Credit Control. Using traditional classroom, virtual and online training methods to ensure the correct delivery methods are applied and reinforcement is in place.
Key tasks
- Responsible for the design, delivery, assessment and evaluation of all training and development activity for the companyâs staff.
- Conduct training needs analysis to identify skill and knowledge gaps across a cultural and geographical diverse organisation.
- Design and deliver engaging sales training programmes (virtual, in-person, blended), including:
- Sales onboarding
- Product and solution training
- Consultative and value-based selling
- Objection handling and negotiation
- Sales leadership and coaching capability
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Proven experience in Learning & Development, with a strong emphasis on sales training or commercial capability.
- Solid understanding of modern sales methodologies (e.g. consultative selling, challenger, solution selling).
- Experience designing and delivering training for sales professionals at multiple levels.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to link learning activity to measurable commercial outcomes.
- Experience working closely with Sales Enablement or Sales Operations functions.
- Knowledge of CRM systems (e.g. PIV) and sales performance analytics.
- CIPD, L&D or coaching qualification.
- Experience in fast-paced, growth-oriented or B2B environments.
