*Role to be based out of our Sheffield Warehouse with travel to our Ripponden office 1/2 days per week*

Role overview

  • The Head of Supply Chain will be responsible for delivering our inventory strategy and operational fulfilment across equipment and parts.
  • The successful candidate will be a champion for our H&S vision and have responsibility for our inventory team, our parts operation and the management of our 3rd party logistics providers.
  • Ensuring the day to day fulfilment of customer orders and a continuous supply for our engineer base making sure our customers equipment keeps running.
  • The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the Commercial and finance teams to execute the agreed inventory strategies, develop and improve capacity planning, considering all warehouse and workshop labour requirements, space requirements and distribution profile required to meet the Demand profiles.
  • KPIs will include Supplier OTIF, supplier lead-time adherence, safety stock outage, customer OTIF and overall inventory model adherence.
  • To deliver on these KPIs the role will require the candidate to manage and co-ordinate supply planning and inventory processes for the organisation and lead the improvement of inventory & OTIF metrics for the organisation. Ensuring all inbound supply requirements are met, in line with updated inventory replenishment model and ensure the right metrics are in place to track and improve agreed KPIs.
  • Ensuring all verticals and Group companies are fully satisfied with continually improving OTIF service levels and meeting the agreed inventory level commitments.
  • Outlining plans to achieve the optimum mix of improved service to customers, reduced inventory value, improved labour utilisation, improved inventory turns, high supplier OTIF, high customer OTIF and effective customer order book management.
  • Review and optimise the use of the business systems to provide full visibility, accountability and transparency of supply and inventory positions to all relevant functions. This will include the development and usage of IFS, and other associated business systems that facilitate efficient replenishment processes. Drive the move away from manual systems. Drive knowledge transfer initiatives to minimise known points of failure.
  • The Head of Supply Chain will also play a pivotal role that will support the Supply Chain transformation programme currently underway.

  • The role will be measured on the basis of Customer Service (OTIF).
  • Optimising the part profile to support increase First Time Fix rates.
  • Cost (Inventory value and turns).
  • Overall On-Time Supplier Delivery.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Industry expertise, manufacturing and or understanding after care / service supply chain requirements.
