Role Overview
To install fire doors and frames at a variety of customer premises, ensuring current fire regulations are adhered to and quality of work is of a high standard.
Key Tasks
- Installation of new BM Trada Q Mark Fire Doors and frames.
- Familiarity with and understanding of the current Fire regulations to ensure the doors are fully compliant.
- Ability to identify labels, CE marks and Plugs to show that a door is certified.
- Fire Door Maintenance / Remedial Works.
- Fire Stopping/Compartmentalisation.
Service Delivery
- Demonstrate an understanding of what service delivery excellence is for your role, ensuring you deliver the basics right every time and lead a team where service is central to good performance.
- Set clearly defined service level agreements for your team.
- Contribute to the service training across the business.
- Monitor and report on the KPIs on a daily basis to track progress and backlog for all customers.
- Monitor and report job status to ensure all customers SLA and Regulatory (BAFE/NSI) requirements are met and exceeded.
People Management
- Set clear objectives for your team members providing regular feedback on performance.
- Manage performance across the team to ensure the achievement of service delivery targets in line with Service Level Agreements.
- Manage any employee relations issues in line with the policies set out by the business.
- Coach and develop the team to ensure they perform at a high level, ensuring colleagues maintain appropriate knowledge of the business products.
- Address any training and development needs and ensure teams have a personal development plan.
- Maintain ongoing communication with employees regarding their wellbeing.
Managing Risk
- Awareness of your operational and regulation risks which may impact on your operations.
- Responsibility for reporting to your line manager any risk which may impact the business.
Criteria
Essential: Knowledge and Skills
- Familiar with the BM Trada Q Mark Scheme Install/maintaining fire doors.
Experience
- Essential: Proven track record in installing fire doors and/or fire door maintenance.
- Desirable: Some fire stopping experience would be beneficial.
Personal qualities
- Self-motivated, reliable, punctual and take pride in the quality of your work.
- Willingness to travel/work away when required.
- Able to act in a professional manner.
- Good communication skills.
Qualifications
- Essential: Minimum Level 2 Qualification in Joinery or relevant experience.
- Full UK Driving license.
- Desirable: CSCS Card Joinery (Blue).
