Role overview

To install fire doors and frames at a variety of customer premises, ensuring current fire regulations are adhered to and quality of work is of a high standard.

Key tasks:

  • Installation of new BM Trada Q Mark Fire Doors and frames
  • Familiarise with and understand current Fire regulations to ensure compliance
  • Identify labels, CE marks and plugs to confirm door certification
  • Fire Door Maintenance / Remedial Works
  • Fire Stopping/Compartmentalisation

Service Delivery

Demonstrate what service delivery excellence means for your role, ensuring consistent high quality work and leading a team where service is central to performance. Set clearly defined service level agreements for your team. Contribute to service training across the business. Monitor and report KPIs daily to track progress and backlog for all customers (Maintenance PPM, Reactive, Small works). Monitor and report job status to ensure all customers SLA and regulatory (BAFE/NSI) requirements are met and exceeded.

People Management

Set clear objectives for team members and provide regular feedback on performance. Manage performance across the team to achieve service delivery targets in line with SLAs. Handle employee relations issues in line with business policies. Co-train and develop the team to maintain high performance and product knowledge. Address training and development needs and maintain individual development plans. Maintain ongoing communication with employees regarding wellbeing.

Managing Risk

Be aware of operational and regulation risks that may impact operations. Report any risk impacting the business to line manager.

Criteria

Essential attributes required for candidate to be considered:

  • Familiarity with the BM Trada Q Mark Scheme
  • Install and maintain fire doors

Desirable attributes that can be trained or developed:

  • Proven track record in installing fire doors and/or fire door maintenance
  • Some fire stopping experience would be beneficial

Personal qualities:

  • Self-motivated, reliable, punctual, and take pride in the quality of work
  • Willingness to travel or work away when required
  • Professional conduct
  • Good communication skills

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 2 Qualification in Joinery or relevant experience
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • CSCS Card Joinery (Blue)
