Role overview
The Group Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies across our group of companies. They will be managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. Working collaboratively across all departments to optimise procurement practices. The Procurement team is a small newly formed team and the right candidate will work on projects across all our sectors sourcing both direct and indirect goods and services.
Key tasks
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy and Category Management: Support with the development and execution of a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the organisation\’s goals and objectives. This strategy should then drive our category management plans to enable delivery and execution.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on performance, cost, quality, ESG and reliability – understanding true total cost of ownership. Maintain strong supplier relationships and manage supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Cost Control: Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or service.
- Procurement Process Improvement: Continuously improve procurement processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, transparency, and compliance.
- Supplier on-boarding: The ability to work with the wider business to lead and project manage the implementation of new suppliers in to the business to ensure delivery of savings and performance improvements.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring that expenditures align with budgetary constraints and financial objectives.
- Compliance: Ensure that all procurement activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Supplier Diversity: Promote supplier diversity and inclusion by seeking out opportunities to work with diverse suppliers.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to make informed decisions.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Reporting: Prepare and present procurement reports, KPIs, and performance metrics to senior management.
