JL Renewable Solutions is recruiting Primary Design Engineers on behalf of a growing energy infrastructure organisation delivering major HV substation, grid connection and renewable energy projects.
The successful engineers will play an important role in developing primary electrical designs for new and upgraded HV substation infrastructure.
This would suit Electrical Design Engineers already working within the UK power sector who are looking to join a business with a growing pipeline of technically challenging energy infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Produce and develop primary electrical designs for HV substation projects.
- Develop and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
- Support substation layout and equipment design.
- Produce technical specifications and engineering documentation.
- Review client specifications and project requirements.
- Support equipment selection and technical evaluation.
- Coordinate design interfaces across engineering disciplines.
- Work closely with project, construction and commissioning teams.
- Support design reviews and technical meetings.
- Ensure designs meet relevant industry and client standards.
- Provide technical support throughout project delivery.
- Liaise with internal and external project stakeholders.
About You
Candidates should ideally demonstrate
- Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
- Previous HV substation design experience.
- Strong understanding of primary electrical design.
- Experience producing and interpreting SLDs.
- Knowledge of HV electrical equipment and substation infrastructure.
- Experience within Transmission & Distribution, grid connections, renewables or energy infrastructure.
- Strong technical communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Experience across BESS, renewable generation or major grid connection projects would be particularly advantageous. xgikmsk
