JKS Restaurants are seeking a Commis Chef with South Indian Cuisine to join their team for an exciting new opening in Dubai this year. The successful candidate will be friendly, personable and passionate with exceptional guest experience knowledge and skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Commis Chef to join an award‑winning, critically acclaimed group, supporting a high‑profile opening. The restaurant will showcase one of JKS’ Michelin‑starred Indian concepts as part of the group’s continued international expansion/growth.

Position

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef with strong South Indian culinary experience to join our team in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands‑on experience in preparing authentic South Indian dishes such as dosa, appam and other regional specialties.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishes.
  • Assist in daily mise en place and kitchen preparation.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
  • Support senior chefs during service and busy operations.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a South Indian kitchen is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional South Indian cooking techniques and ingredients.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent team player with good communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Dubai‑based candidates available for a trial will be preferred.
