The Registered Manager is responsible for the full operational leadership and management of a children’s residential home, ensuring high-quality care in line with each child’s care plan, company policies, and regulatory standards. This senior management role demands professionalism, leadership, and strategic oversight to ensure the welfare and development of young people with complex needs, including mental health and learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and manage all home staff including Deputies, Team Leaders, and Support Workers.
  • Ensure high standards of care, safety, and compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements.
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, progress reviews, and referrals.
  • Monitor and improve the home's performance via quality assurance systems and stakeholder feedback.
  • Maintain effective communication with external agencies and local authorities.
  • Be on-call as required and ensure effective rota and resource planning.
  • Provide staff training and professional development.
  • Promote safeguarding, diversity, and the emotional well-being of residents.

Requirements:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management in the relevant care environment (essential).
  • Will consider an experienced Deputy Manager working towards a Level 5.
  • Experience managing residential care for children with complex needs and learning disabilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and IT skills.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, safeguarding, and person-centered care.
