Mental Health Community Carer (Driver essential)

Job Purpose

To provide person-centred support to individuals with mental health needs in their homes and the community, promoting independence, wellbeing, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and emotional support to service users.
  • Support individuals with daily living activities, appointments, and community access.
  • Encourage independence, social inclusion, and positive mental wellbeing.
  • Monitor and report any changes in a service user’s condition.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow care plans.
  • Work in line with safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in health and social care or mental health support.
  • Compassionate, reliable, and person-centred approach.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle (essential).
  • Enhanced DBS check.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Experience supporting people with mental health conditions.
