The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

The holder will act as the primary quality contact for the resolution of day to day production and product quality issues, customer complaint handling, control of non conforming product and product release.

Duties:

  • First point of contact for the operations team to resolve day to day product quality issues.
  • Has the authority to reject any component or product if any specification is not met.
  • Management of customer complaint handling system, ensuring that quality issues are resolved using effective problem solving techniques within defined timescales and accurate and timely responses are given to the customer.
  • Develop and manage a robust system for assessing the compliance of finished products determining suitability for sale (including the positive release of specific finished products through the SAGE ERP system).
  • Ensure the continuous update and maintenance of the product test requirements in line with approved changes to finished product specifications and agreed customer requests.
  • Generate Certificate of Analysis and Certificate of Conformance as per customer requirements to support the sale of finished goods.
  • Coordinate the control of non conforming in process and finished products and assessment of product returns. Ensure appropriate action is taken by generating as required a rework instruction or rejection notification.
  • Liaise with GIQC Manager for quality issues relating to raw materials, packaging components and bought in materials.
  • Manage the HACCP, Calibration, Validation, GMP Training, GMP Audit, Environmental and Water monitoring programmes.
  • Support the creation, review and approval of quality documents including SOPs, master manufacturing records, batch production records and validation documentation.
  • Maintain and refine the FGQC and QC Lab department’s Controlled documentation and assist with the generation and review of documentation for other departments.
  • Conduct internal, process and factory audits, identifying non conformances and propose opportunities for improvements.
  • Serve as first line supervision for Quality teams. Deputise for the Head of Quality and act as deputy authorised person.
  • Provide cover for the Product Quality teams for holidays/absence and during periods of high workload.
  • Devise and publish key metrics for Quality Control Processes.
  • Manage and Support QC Microlab and QC Chemical Labs to ensure efficient and accurate test results.

The Person:

  • Ideally qualified to degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate scientific subject or specific quality assurance discipline.
  • Must have experience in a Quality Role within a manufacturing organisation.
  • Sound practical and theoretical knowledge of statistics and Quality Control Tools.
  • The job holder must have good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Must be customer focused.
  • Must have good computer, presentation and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills.
  • Must be able to persuade, convince and influence others and develop structured arguments.
  • Must be able to work independently and have a proactive approach.
  • Must be capable of working under pressure and have ability to get things done.
  • Make sound quality decisions through evaluating data to reach constructive recommendations.
  • Must be accurate and timely in decision making and delivering results.
