The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the supply chain function. This role involves managing the movement of goods from suppliers to customers, coordinating logistics, maintaining inventory levels and working with vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency. The Supply Chain Coordinator will assist with order processing, shipment tracking, and data management to help optimise supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process orders for raw materials, packaging, and production supplies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, confirming lead times, pricing, and delivery details.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery terms when necessary.
- Resolve issues with defective products, delayed shipments, or order discrepancies.
- Inventory & Stock Control:
- Monitor inventory levels to maintain stock availability and prevent production delays or overstock situations.
- Assist in inventory planning and reorder processes.
- Conduct regular stock audits and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Maintain all documentation related to procurement, shipping, and inventory.
- Production Planning Support:
- Work closely with operations and production teams to ensure materials are available for scheduled production runs.
- Support seasonal demand planning and new product launches.
- Logistics & Distribution:
- Coordinate with logistics providers to arrange transportation of goods and track shipments.
- Resolve shipping issues or delays by liaising with carriers and internal teams.
- Assist with customs clearance processes for international shipments as required.
- Cost Management & Process Improvement:
- Monitor and manage supply chain costs, seeking opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through supplier negotiations, optimised shipping, or process improvements.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for supply chain operations.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and trade laws where applicable.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in the company's supply chain management system.
- Identify opportunities to enhance supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics, to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Stay informed of industry best practices, trends, and emerging technologies within supply chain and logistics to support effective operations.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to strengthen relationships with suppliers and optimise production planning.
- Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to drive continuous operational improvements and support business growth.
