We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career within a dynamic, fast-paced business. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day to day financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance at all times. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee credit control, including debt chasing and query resolution.
  • Process and input purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Carry out bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash records.
  • Maintain and manage the debtor ledger (approx. £1.2 million).
  • Support month-end procedures, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Use Excel and accounting software to track, analyse, and update financial data.
  • Ensure accurate filing and maintenance of financial documentation.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the finance team and wider business as required.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounts.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) with confidence to liaise with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience using accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
