Here at JK Bookkeeping, we believe that our success depends first and foremost on people. We are currently looking for a bookkeeper to join us in a remote capacity. Please be aware that this role requires proven knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks. We do not require anyone who can prove many years of experience using Sage or any other platform. We ONLY use Xero and QuickBooks and therefore are looking for someone who is an expert in this field. Please do not apply if you do not have proven Xero and QB experience as your application will be declined.

We are looking for someone with high attention to detail, who is self-motivated and thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment. You would have worked in an accountancy firm and have experience of working with multiple clients. The ideal candidate would have a home office set up and be available for Skype/Zoom calls during working hours. Strong numerical ability, accounting knowledge and being able to work to tight deadlines is a must.

THIS POSITION IS SUITABLE FOR SOMEONE NEW TO ACCOUNTING WHO WOULD LIKE TO GAIN EXPERIENCE IN BOOKKEEPING USING XERO AND QUICKBOOKS SOFTWARE. WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ACCOUNTANTS APPLICATIONS WHO ARE VERY MUCH OVERQUALIFIED FOR THIS POSITION.

Duties include:

  • Processing purchase and sales ledger invoices
  • Reconcile purchase and sales ledger statements and process payments and receipts
  • Month-end purchase/sales ledger reconciliation
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Petty cash reconciliation
  • Balance Sheet reconciliation
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Credit control
  • Payroll journals

This is a permanent part-time position with room to grow for the right person. To begin with, the role will be for 2 mornings or afternoons a week and timings are flexible as long as the work is done by the agreed deadline. Hourly pay is between £10 - £17 dependent on experience.
