The Role: The Business Development Manager will proactively market and promote the Wealth Management Firm to IFAs/Financial Advisors, Accountants and Lawyers, working in partnership with IFAs to tailor advice/resources for their client base. The Business Development Manager will deliver predominantly telephone-based support to the lead Business Development Directors in the promotion of the Wealth Management services to the intermediary market, with the objective of increasing the firm’s Assets under Management.
Proactively develop and maintain intermediary relationships through regular telephone contact, handling enquiries and supporting business development activity in line with the firm’s strategic objectives. The Business Development Manager will carry out a structured follow-up and ongoing relationship management, presenting the Wealth Management proposition clearly, maintaining regular contact with priority intermediary firms and aligning discussions with the wider Business Development team’s objectives.
The Business Development Manager will assist the Business Development Director in generating new business opportunities and developing new intermediary contacts through outbound calling and relationship-building activity, in line with strategy and plans. The Business Development Manager will introduce Investment Managers to relevant IFA and intermediary contacts and refer opportunities internally or externally where appropriate to strengthen relationships and support business growth. This includes coordinating follow-up activity, ensuring introductions are timely and appropriate.
The Business Development Manager will research market developments, competitor activity and intermediary feedback to identify potential areas of growth and support the development of new business initiatives.
The Candidate:
- An understanding of the IFA / intermediary community (lawyers and accountants)
- Experience in business development within wealth management / investment management setting
- Able to keep abreast of developments in the financial industry along with any regulatory changes.
- Keen to work towards an approved level 4 qualification to gain diploma status
- To understand Clients’ objectives and strategic intent.
- Maintain close control during the pitch process and on occasion run Client accounts directly
- Contribute constructively to discussions and meetings as appropriate.
