The Head of Operations will provide leadership and overall accountability for the Asset Management Operations function. Reporting to the Chief Compliance & Risk Officer, the Head of Operations is accountable for the operational performance, resilience, efficiency and control of operations across the middle and back office.
The Head of Operations will set the function’s priorities and standards; keep its operating model, structure and resourcing under review; and lead continuous improvement in its processes, systems and controls. The role will have direct responsibility for a designated area of Operations, using effective delegation and the capability of senior colleagues to create the capacity needed to lead the function as a whole.
The Head of Operations will possess strong breadth of knowledge across end-to-end middle- and back-office operations, including their interdependencies, operational risks, controls and external service provider relationships. The Head of Operations will challenge existing ways of working, identifying practical opportunities for improvement and convert them into sustainable, well-controlled outcomes with clear ownership and follow-through.
The Head of Operations will get the most from Enfusion system, automation, AI and other systems and technology to improve efficiency, scalability and the quality of operational delivery. The Head of Operations will lead operations across the middle and back office, holding overall accountability for the function’s service delivery, performance, resilience, risk and control.
Work collaboratively across the Investment, Trading, Finance, Compliance & Risk, IT and other relevant teams to ensure that operational priorities anticipate and support the Asset Management business and client needs. The Head of Operations will own and regularly review the operational model, including the function’s structure, responsibilities, capacity, resourcing and appropriate use of third-party providers or outsourcing.
The Head of Operations will drive the effective use of Enfusion, automation, AI and other operational systems and technology, working closely with relevant stakeholders across the business. Lead the operational delivery of change, ensuring appropriate planning, ownership, testing, documentation, training, implementation and post-implementation review.
The Head of Operations will lead the operational delivery of new business initiatives, client onboarding, fund and product launches, transitions and material changes, ensuring that Operations is ready and able to support them effectively.
The Candidate:
- Senior level Head of Operations experience within an Asset Management / Investment Management firm
- Familiar with Enfusion system would be highly beneficial
- Interested to drive technology and system improvements within Investment Operations
- AI and Automation – exposure to this within an Asset Management setting
- Team management and leadership experience is essential
