The Role: The Client Onboarding Specialist will work closely with the Private Bank front office teams to assist in new account openings, ensuring that account opening documents and client KYC & AML due diligence meets both UK and local Booking Centre requirements. The Client Onboarding Specialist will evaluate complex client structures (in particular, Trusts, Foundations and Domiciliary company accounts) to ensure account opening proceeds in line with the legal regulations. Undertake additional clarifications (with client facing teams or the Compliance Department) if required and assist in the escalation of identified elevated AML risks, potential suspicion of money laundering, or unsuitable advice. Collaborating closely with client facing teams (Relationship Managers, Assistant Relationship Managers), the Client Onboarding Specialist will also have the ability to liaise with clients directly to ensure excellent client experience in the onboarding process. The Client Onboarding Specialist will be comfortable liaising with prospects or clients directly in order to ensure a high level of service and client experience as well as collaborating with internal stakeholders that support the process. Work closely with Front Office teams in the creation of client onboarding files to ensure completeness, quality and plausibility of documented Financial Crime and Suitability related information. Ensure the inclusion of corroboration documents, perform and assess negative news hits (including assessment of reliability of the source) and address potential reputational risk.
The Candidate:
- 2-5 years of Client Onboarding experience within Wealth Management / Private Banking.
- Level 4 Wealth Management or Compliance & Compliance Risk qualification (or equivalent) - preferred.
- Solid understanding of Financial Crime and Suitability related topics.
- An understanding of complex client structures (in particular, Trusts, Foundations).
