The Company: A well-established Wealth management firm
The Role: The Associate Portfolio Manager will suit an ambitious individual with 3+ years Portfolio Construction / Portfolio Management experience, who will join an established Portfolio Management team within this Wealth Management firm. The Portfolio Management team have a growing AUM, therefore the Associate Portfolio Manager will already be level 3 CISI qualified (or equivalent), in order to place fund trades under supervision from a Senior Portfolio Manager initially, with a view eventually fully placing trades independently. The Associate Portfolio Manager role will have a strong interest in financial markets and will support the day-to-day management of portfolios, ensuring they remain aligned with agreed investment objectives, and will implement investment decisions across an existing book of multi-asset portfolios, taking capital gains tax and specific client requirements into account. The Associate Portfolio Manager will monitor portfolios on an ongoing basis to ensure they comply with restrictions. Invest cash additions and place sales when required. Incept and monitor trades, liaising with the in-house dealing team when required.
Whilst this role has a more technical portfolio management focus, the Associate Portfolio Manager will attend performance review meetings with private clients when required, alongside Relationship Managers, to provide commentary on portfolio performance and the financial market conditions when required.
The Candidate:
- 3+ years’ previous experience working in Portfolio Management within Investment Management / Wealth Management – as a Junior Portfolio Manager, Portfolio Assistant or Portfolio Specialist.
- Holder of CISI Level 3 Regulations Paper or IAD and further CISI, CFA, CIPM/IMC exams (required) – in order to place trades independently.
- Experience in managing portfolios, including raising cash and portfolio reviews and the trade execution process.
- Proficient in Excel to an advanced level will be considered.
- Experience in using any trade execution software.
- Experience in using Morningstar Direct / Bloomberg.
