The Front Office Risk Manager plays a critical role in the 1st Line of Defence (1LoD) supporting the Private Bank in managing and monitoring risk across the entire front office client lifecycle β from onboarding through to client management - assessing and mitigating risk.
The Front Office Risk Manager's key responsibilities include:
- Providing risk-related advice to Front Office Management and client-facing staff
- Assessment and decision-taking related to client risk-related tasks
- Delivering risk analysis and driving risk-related initiatives across the Private Bank
The role requires experience in understanding Client Suitability, regulatory requirements, business needs, and risk management principles to drive informed decision-making and mitigate potential client risks.
The Front Office Risk Manager supports the Front Office in:
- Performance of risk & control self-assessments
- Assessment and handling of operational risk incidents
- Ad hoc business risk and conduct reviews
Collaboration with 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defence, Front Management and other relevant stakeholders is essential to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management and highest quality standards. The role involves preparing and delivering Risk Analysis in collaboration to provide transparency and front office supervisory oversight to address any regulatory and quality assurance concerns.
The Front Office Risk Manager drives risk awareness and training initiatives and provides risk-related support and advice for ad-hoc projects. Coordination and interaction with various internal stakeholders (e.g. compliance, legal, etc.) is required, leading and implementing change initiatives to improve Front Office and business risk management processes and procedures, ensuring the Front Office team is adaptable to changing regulatory requirements and business needs.
The Candidate
At least 3 years of experience in a similar Front Office Risk, Business Assurance, Risk Assessment role in the Private Banking or Wealth Management sector, working closely with Private Bankers, Wealth Managers or Investment Managers is required.
Essential qualifications include:
