Internal Logistics Supervisor in Enfield

To be considered for this position, you must be a current employee of JJ Food Service Ltd.

Primary Responsibility:

• Supervise the strategy of the logistics operation to enable delivery of products and services to customers in a timely, quality and cost-effective manner.

Other Responsibilities:

• Ensure all documentation, legal and insurance requirements are met.
• Supervise the planning of all deliveries, working within necessary constraints of dates, routes, vehicle size, stock capacity etc.
• Supervise all procedures from order input, allocation, selection and load completion.
• Assist with preparation of plans, estimates, orders and logistics annexes in support of requirements.
• Assist with developing cost estimate, functional requirements and resource requirements needed to implement logistics plans and operations.
• Coordinate the full range of logistics support activities of the assigned personnel, including but not limited to food service assurance inspection, supply support, transportation support, and warehousing operations.
• Ensure all documentation meets the company and legislative requirements contributing to continuous improvements of the administrative function.
• Ensure there is effective communication amongst teams.
• Attend and provide feedback in management meetings.
• Identify strategies to implement cost reduction measures in logistical activities.
• Help to conduct recruitment such as interviewing potential staff, selecting and offering jobs.
• Assist the management in supervising employee relationship issues.
• Set employee attendance and payments to the system accurately and on time.
• Encourage and support employees to participate in the training.
• Observe the results and provide feedback to contribute to the evaluation process.
• Resolve health and safety, legal and security issues.
• Ensure that employees are trained on how to do their job and adhere to health and safety guidelines.
• Provide feedback to enhance service delivery.
• Seek to improve relations regarding the provision of efficient communications to facilitate service delivery and issue management.
• Ensure that the company internal/external customer care & equal opportunity policies are adhered to at all times.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for health & safety.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business requirements.
• Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role and as necessary in order to achieve the objectives of the department and JJ Food Service goals.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
• Deputise for the Logistics Manager during periods of absence and when requested, ensuring continuity of daily logistics operations, coordinating the logistics operation, and resolving operational issues within agreed levels of authority.
• Escalate matters requiring senior management approval as appropriate.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a business/engineering related subject is preferable. Relevant work experience will also be considered.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting: the job will involve manual handling (lifting or moving products or equipment). You will be provided with training to undertake manual handling safely, using equipment provided where necessary.
• Physical requirements: Pushing pulling the trolley to carry the above items occasionally.
• Equipment: you will be trained to use appropriate equipment depending on the load you are required to lift.

Skills:

• Ability to query and analyse data.
• Work independently and make decisions based on information provided.
• Proficient in commonly used software such as Microsoft Office and business applications.
• Good communication, organisation and telephone manner.
• Execute tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
• Good knowledge of UK Roads, ideally brought from a logistics background.

It is an express condition that you are prepared whenever necessary to transfer to alternative groups or duties within our business. During holiday periods etc., it may be necessary for you to take over some duties normally performed by colleagues.
