Internal Stock Controller in Swinton

To be considered for this position, you must be a current employee of JJ Food Service Ltd.

Primary Responsibility

• Compile stock control records and information, such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
• Handle and pick goods and products through receiving, storing, loading and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive goods from suppliers checking accuracy against delivery notes prior to unloading ensuring all damaged and missing goods are reported immediately.
• Ensure online and counter orders placed are prepared accurately for collection according to invoice and picking lists.
• Check accuracy of deliveries with incoming goods ensuring administration is equivalent to physical delivery reporting any discrepancies.
• Ensure products are coded/labelled correctly and stored at the correct location.
• Ensure stock rotation to minimize loss through short dated items.
• Quarantine non-conforming products for investigation and further action.
• Check vegetable list for correct quantity and quality.
• Load goods accurately and safely to vehicles for dispatch.
• Review not loaded item documentation and investigate for loss, damage or theft.
• Liaise with relevant managers to ensure that stock negatives are resolved.
• Investigate damaged items and take action accordingly.
• Keep system updated with stock movements.
• Determine slow selling items and make recommendations accordingly.
• Coordinate and prepare for stock taking process.
• Conduct cyclic count and resolve discrepancies and queries in a timely manner.
• Ensure internal transfer procedures are being adhered to according to business requirements.
• Provide feedback to enhance product performance and service delivery.
• Seek to improve relations with regard to the provision of efficient communications to facilitate product development and issue management.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for Health & Safety.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business requirements.
• Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role and as necessary in order to achieve the objectives of the department and JJ Food Service goals.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Education

• 4 GCSE’s A-C including English and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications. Relevant work experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting: The job will involve manual handling (lifting or moving products or equipment). You will be provided with training to undertake manual handling safely, using the equipment provided where necessary.
• Physical requirements: pushing, pulling the trolley to carry the above items occasionally.
• Equipment: Pump trucks, forklifts, reach truck. You will be trained to use appropriate equipment depending on the load you are required to lift.

Skills

• Ability to query and analyse data.
• Work independently and make decisions based on information provided.
• Proficient in commonly used software such as MS Office.
• Execute tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
• Thorough product knowledge.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Forklift licence is preferable.
