Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and control the safe receipt and storage of goods in the warehouse.
- Ensure goods received are checked against delivery notes prior to unloading and any discrepancies or damages are noted and investigated for further action.
- Operate plant vehicle in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Sort pallets, ensuring they are in the right place, in good condition and safe.
- Communicate incoming goods with the Stock Control team for maintenance of accurate records.
- Complete all administration relevant to information received.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and security of the assigned vehicle.
- Ensure stock rotation to minimise loss through short-dated items.
- Determine slow-selling items and make recommendations accordingly.
- Wear safety boots and high-visibility jacket at all times.
- Ensure that the company internal and external customer care and equal opportunity policies are adhered to at all times.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for Health and Safety.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business requirements.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as reasonably expected of the role and as necessary to achieve departmental objectives and JJ Food Service goals.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Qualifications
- 4 GCSEs A-C including English and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications.
- Certificate Reach Truck Licence and 3+ years of experience is mandatory.
Physical Requirements
- Manual handling: lifting or moving products or equipment. Training will be provided for safe manual handling and use of equipment.
- Push or pull trolleys occasionally.
Skills
- Good communication skill.
- Work independently and make decisions based on information provided.
- Proficiency in commonly used software such as MS Office.
- Execute tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
