Responsibilities
- Deliver goods to customers and provide outstanding customer service.
- Maintain a clean and presentable appearance at all times, representing the company and maintaining a warm & helpful attitude.
- Load and unload goods to the customer’s delivery point in accordance with manual handling and health & safety training.
- Deliver goods in a polite manner, managing manual handling of goods up to 25 kg.
- Create a work balance of being 50% driver and 50% customer service representative.
- Be customer and service focused as the “face of JJ.”
- Uphold the company brand image with a uniformed smart appearance and a positive attitude.
- Ensure service quality remains high and maintain standards of cleanliness and security of the assigned vehicle.
- Maintain health and safety standards of the assigned lorry and staff under control.
- Drive assigned vehicles to customer accounts, meeting tight deadlines and following route sequence.
- Complete deliveries in a timely manner.
- Collect and bank payments in accordance with payment terms, keeping funds secure.
- Bank only up to £1,000 at any time.
- Ensure invoices and relevant documents are signed by customers.
- Identify counterfeit money.
- Keep the company mobile device charged and active.
- Wear full JJ uniform, safety boots, and maintain a smart, clean presentation.
- Report all accidents and injuries immediately, taking pictures of damage as described in the employee handbook.
- Obey all traffic laws and limits.
- Organise and control helpers.
- Accurately complete the taco graph (if applicable).
- Carry out additional tasks delegated by the line manager.
- Adhere to company internal/external customer care and equal opportunity policies.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business requirements.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities reasonably expected of the role.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with GDPR.
Lifting & Equipment
- Lifting of products (ambient, chilled, frozen) up to 25 kg.
- Pushing and pulling a trolley to customer premises (drivers/helpers).
- Operating a vehicle tail lift.
- Use of sack barrow (trolley) for drivers and helpers.
- Use of pump trucks (warehouse operatives, drivers and helpers).
Qualifications & Skills
- Clean and valid C1 driving licence.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good driver with thorough understanding of road safety.
- Patience to tolerate long drives and heavy traffic.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service skills, remaining pleasant and friendly.
