Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver goods to customers and provide outstanding customer service.
Other Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and presentable appearance at all times.
- Represent the Company and provide excellent customer service at all levels with a warm and helpful attitude.
- Loading and unloading, delivering goods to the customer’s delivery point in accordance with manual handling and health & safety training.
Daily and Long-Term Responsibilities:
- Deliver goods in a polite manner to the customer’s delivery point, including manual handling of goods up to 25kg.
- Create a work balance of 50% driver and 50% customer service representative.
- Be customer and service focused, “face of JJ”.
- Uphold the company brand image, uniformed smart appearance with a positive attitude at all times.
- Ensure that the service quality remains consistently high.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and security of your assigned vehicle.
- Maintain Health and Safety standards of your assigned lorry and staff under control.
- Drive assigned vehicles to assigned customer accounts until all deliveries are finished, work to tight deadlines.
- Ensure the deliveries are completed in a timely manner.
- Follow your route sequence.
- Collect and bank in accordance with payment terms and ensure the money is secure at all times.
- Banking collected money by not exceeding £1000 at any time.
- Ensure all invoices and relevant documents are signed by customers with the correct received amount.
- Identifying counterfeit money.
- Keep company mobile device charged and on at all times.
- Wearing full JJ uniform and safety boots, smart and clean presentation.
- Reporting all accidents and injuries at work immediately and taking pictures of the damage as described in the employee handbook.
- Obeying all traffic laws and limits.
- Organising and controlling helper.
- Accurately and clearly completing your tacograph (if applicable).
- Carrying out such further tasks as may from time to time be delegated by your line manager.
- To ensure that the company internal/external customer care & equal opportunity policies are adhered to at all times.
- To be responsible for and ensure compliance with policies and procedures for Health & Safety.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business requirements.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role and as necessary in order to achieve the objectives of the department and JJ Food Service goals.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Lifting and Equipment:
The job involves lifting of products (Ambient, chilled and frozen) with different weights up to 25 kg. Pushing, pulling the trolley to customer premises (drivers/helpers). Operating a vehicle tail lift.
Equipment:
- Sack barrow (Trolley) for drivers and helpers.
- Pump trucks (warehouse operatives, drivers and helpers).
Skills:
- Clean and valid B Class driving licence.
- Good driving with thorough understanding of road safety.
- Patience to tolerate long drives and heavy traffic.
- Able to work alone or as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service skills remaining pleasant and friendly.
- Basic IT skills.
- Good map reading skills and knowledge of the area.
- Problem solving ability.
