JJ Food Service is launching a brand-new branch in Nottingham, and we’re looking for a bold, strategic, and relationship‑driven Business Development Manager to help us get off to a strong start. As one of the UK’s most respected foodservice wholesalers, JJ is trusted by thousands of restaurants, cafés, retailers, and caterers nationwide — and now you have the chance to become the face of our brand in an exciting new territory.
This isn’t just another sales role. This role is 100% field‑based and requires regular travel across Nottingham and the surrounding areas.
Salary: up to £40,000 per annum + OTE Bonus
To Be Successful You Must Have:
- Prior experience in new business development in the Food Service Sector or a national accounts position, with successful achievements across multiple sectors and experience managing tenders
- Ability to work confidently and effectively on your own initiative
- Strong selling and negotiation skills
- Commercial insight and understanding of key profit levers
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- A strong understanding of JJ Food Service Ltd and the wider hospitality and restaurant sector
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to work towards tight deadlines
- Commitment to keeping up to date with industry trends, regulations, and legislation
Responsibilities of the role:
- Ensure commercial new business is secured through active prospecting and effective pipeline management
- Understand the local market and how JJ’s products and services support customers across the region
- Grow and maintain customer relationships in line with targeted commercial growth
- Use successful techniques for securing contracts, including communicating JJ’s unique selling points, understanding operating margins, and meeting client requirements
