**Job Description:**
DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Manager, Trade Controls, located in the United States or Ireland or the United Kingdom or Switzerland.
The Manager, Trade Controls sits within Strategy & Transformation, playing a critical role in shaping and enabling compliant, efficient, and scalable global trade processes. This position partners closely with regional supply chain, logistics, compliance, and business leaders to ensure trade controls are embedded into global supply chain strategies, transformation initiatives, and daytoday operations. The role offers the opportunity to influence global operating models, drive standardization, and support business growth while ensuring compliance with evolving global trade regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**
Lead the development and execution of global trade controls strategies aligned with Global Supply Chain objectives and transformation initiatives.
Provide subjectmatter expertise on import/export controls, sanctions, and customs compliance to support global supply chain operations.
Partner with strategy, transformation, and operational teams to embed trade compliance requirements into new processes, systems, and operating models.
Drive standardization and continuous improvement of trade compliance processes, controls, and governance across regions.
Assess traderelated risks and develop mitigation strategies to support uninterrupted global supply and regulatory compliance.
Support global initiatives such as network optimization, supplier transitions, and new product introductions from a trade controls perspective.
Collaborate with crossfunctional stakeholders (Supply Chain, Legal, Compliance, Finance, IT) to ensure alignment and effective execution of trade controls requirements.
Monitor regulatory changes and assess business impact, translating requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
**Qualifications**
_Education_
Required: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
Preferred: Masters degree (MBA or equivalent) or advanced certification in trade compliance or supply chain.
**_Experience and Skills_**
Required:
Typically 68 years of progressive experience in global trade compliance, supply chain, or related functions, with exposure to international operations.
Strong working knowledge of global trade controls, import/export regulations, and customs requirements.
3+ years of hands-on SAP GTS experience working directly within SAP GTS managing Sanctioned Party List, legal regulations, export licenses and block resolution.
Experience supporting or leading crossfunctional initiatives in a global, matrixed organization.
Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business processes.
Effective communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
Preferred:
Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or another highly regulated industry.
Experience supporting supply chain transformation, digital enablement, or operating model redesign.
Experience with customs brokerage systems, data analytics tools, PowerBI and intermediate Excel skills (pivot table, Vlookup, Xlookup, graphs)
Prior people leadership or project leadership experience.
Professional certification (e.g., customs, trade compliance, or supply chain).
Strong analytical, problemsolving, and risk assessment skills.

Language: Proficiency in English required; additional languages are a plus.
Travel: Limited; up to ~1520% domestic and international travel, as needed.
Certifications: Trade compliance or customs certifications preferred but not required.
