Beyond asset oversight, you’ll ensure the seamless administration of treasury and banking activities, helping to safeguard Jisc’s financial health. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that combines technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration, perfect for someone who thrives on responsibility and making a difference.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate accounting of bank transactions.
  • Manage and administer bank accounts effectively.
  • Capital Assets:
    • Maintain and develop the group fixed asset register, including intangible assets and periodic verifications.
    • Reconcile capital asset inventory monthly with finance records.
    • Regularly review assets, manage disposals, and update depreciation schedules.
    • Prepare fixed asset journals and monthly/yearly depreciation reports.
    • Monitor and approve capital asset purchase requisitions; support requisitioner training.
    • Update records for new purchases, disposals, and asset movements.
    • Support lease accounting and liaise with Facilities on lease contracts.
    • Assist with statutory accounts preparation and provide audit support for assets.

    What we are looking for:

    • Proven experience in preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations with a strong attention to accuracy and compliance.
    • Good knowledge of MS Office suite particularly Excel and able to work with large volumes of data accurately.
    • A solid conceptual understanding of asset management principles and practices.
    • Practical experience using financial accounting software.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced and commercial environment.
    • Must be trainee or part qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAI).

Specific patterns for working in the office are not mandated, and the frequency of time worked in the office is agreed with your manager. Meeting in person is something we value so you may need to travel on occasion to any of our hub offices.

We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they think they can’t tick every box, so we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet 100% of the requirements, but you feel this role is perfect for you. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles!
