The team: Customer & Sector Enablement brings together key revenue generating functions including Student Services, Data Analytics, Trust & Identity and OpenAthens, alongside sales enablement for customers, HE, FE and skills. With 200+ colleagues across multiple disciplines and some global delivery, it’s a high energy, collaborative directorate focused on achieving ambitious business targets. A major priority is driving high value sales of Jisc products and services into existing and new markets to grow sustainable revenue and reduce reliance on grant funding.
The role: This is an evolving role shaped by the growing need for effective sales processes around product introduction, to drive revenue and help the sales teams sell and deliver for their customers. You’ll work alongside the Deputy director of sales operations and enablement as well as independently, make informed decisions and influence senior stakeholders, including heads of product and relationship management across HE and FE. You’ll collaborate closely with the Director of Product, the Head of Commercial in GCTO and finance partners to ensure products are ready for sale and service in line with revenue commitments. You will achieve this by leading planning cycles across sales and product teams, overseeing monthly forecasting, performance and the annual planning process. You’ll also own sales operations within the wider operations function, working closely with deputy directors in the customer sales team. The operations team provides essential support to the Customer & Sector Enablement Managing Director, senior leadership team and the wider directorate, as well as shared services such as CRM and member subscriptions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Ownership of the annual sales planning schedule, quarterly reviews and monthly sales pipeline meeting schedule and chairing.
- Responsibility for managing stakeholders’ business-wide at all levels (sector heads, heads of product) within the virtual team to undertake the agreed tasks.
- Ownership and ensuring effective delivery of the annual sales launch event, working with the director and deputy directors of sales.
- Developing a full working knowledge and understanding of Jisc sales targets across the CSE directorate.
- Use the CRM to populate the monthly performance reports and compile summaries with input from commercial directors.
- Driving project planning around PLM and sales targets, and alignment with project timelines and constraints.
- Supporting project governance – including preparing documentation, managing risks, stage gates, weekly and monthly reporting, decision logging, and budget tracking.
